Marine Ceramic Coating on the Gold Coast

Prepare the finish. Apply the protection. Keep up the care.

Marine ceramic coating for your boat, with surface preparation and maintenance advice from The Boat Detailers. Visit our Southport detailing workshop or enquire about work at your boat’s location.

A coating starts with the right preparation

A good finish starts before the coating is applied. We assess your boat’s surfaces and discuss the preparation needed, the areas to be coated and how you plan to maintain them.

If the gelcoat is dull or oxidised, ask about hull polishing and gelcoat restoration as part of the preparation. Ceramic coating is a protective finishing treatment; it does not replace repairs or polishing where those are needed.

Our owner-operated team provides boat detailing across the Gold Coast and Brisbane, with a workshop at 7B/51 Johnston Street, Southport QLD 4215.

What your ceramic coating quote covers

Every boat has different surfaces and preparation needs. We’ll discuss:

  • Surface condition: the current finish, existing treatments and any areas needing further attention.
  • Preparation: cleaning and any agreed polishing or gelcoat restoration before application.
  • Coating scope: the specific surfaces and areas included in the work.
  • Application arrangements: where the work will take place and any access or scheduling requirements.
  • Handover and care: washing, curing and maintenance instructions for the coating used.

The quote will set out the agreed work. Send photos of the areas you want coated so we can discuss the next step.

Our process

  1. Assess your boat. Tell us its size, location and the surfaces you want coated. We discuss its condition and your priorities.
  2. Agree the preparation. We confirm the cleaning, polishing or restoration included in your quote.
  3. Prepare and coat. We carry out the agreed preparation and apply the selected coating according to its requirements.
  4. Explain ongoing care. We provide the relevant curing and maintenance advice before you return to normal use.

Maintain your boat after coating

Ongoing care forms part of the coating plan. Follow the washing and curing instructions provided for your product, and ask us about suitable cleaners and scheduled maintenance.

Before booking, we can explain any maintenance package requirements and warranty terms that apply to the coating offered.
